We live and work today in a sea of changes, that can never be controlled. This is brought about by the rapid changes taking place in technology. We don't even notice the changes that almost occur every minute, affecting not only our everyday lives, our major undertakings, our educational system included. There is a demand for improvement in the performance of our school organization. Schools today must be nimble, quick and proactive if we desire effective and globaly competitive products of education.
The teacheress play a vital role in the program because they are tasked to train not only the young learneres but, but the adults as well. Their responsiblities and functions are extended to the community. They are concerned not only with the education of the young choldren in the classroom, but also with the improvement of the adults in the community. The strength of democracy depends upon the enlightened citizenry. The most valuable singular resource of any community is its people. hence, the economic development of human resources. The educational system is thye major supplier of skills, hence it is the task of the teachers to see to it they produce quality students. It is in this premise that author have included in this book topics which are about the Philippine Constitution specifically the kinds of citizens of our country and their duties and obligations, values of good citizenship with inclusion of bible verses, some provisions on state policies, self-awareness and importance of functions of literacy and numeracy.
