Adviser: Mrs. Rosemina R. de Guzman Technical Adviser: Mr. Rodolfo R. Tibayan The research study entitled "Bicycle - Driven Plastic Shredding Machine" was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario and at Kayquit I, Indang. Cavite. Generally, this study aimed to determine the possibility of designing and constructing a bicycle - driven plastic shredding machine. Specifically, this study aimed to answer this question, 1.) Is there a difference on the efficiency of the bicycle-driven plastic shredding machine when applied to three samples? The research design used in this study was Quasi, which uses both the descriptive and experimental method. The formula for the mean was used to analyze the data gathered. The samples used to test the efficiency of the machine were plastic bags. junk food wrappers, and tetra-packs. Each sample was shredded for two minutes in three trials. The mean amount of the shredded samples was used to evaluate the efficiency of the machine. The results showed that the bicycle driven plastic shredding machine was most efficient in shredding tetra-packs and not so efficient in shredding plastic bags. From the findings and conclusion of this study, these are the recommendations; 1.Increase the size of the sprocket attached to the feeder for much smaller strips of shredded materials. 2. The researchers recommend this project to junk shop owners and recycling plants.
