THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTATOR (A MULTI- PURPOSE CALCULATOR WITH CONVERTER) FOR SMART PHONES WITH ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM. A Project Design. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University-Rosario, Rosario, Cavite. April 2014. Adviser: Christopher G. Estonilo. The study was conducted from July 2013 to January 2014 in the house of Mr. Avandamme U. Dimatulac at Block. 26, Lot 16, Karla Ville Subdivision, Wawa III. Rosario, Cavite, to develop a multi-purpose calculator with converter on subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for Smart Phones. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1. plan the system through identifying the nature and scope of the existing application of calculator and converter; 2. analyze the problem in the use of simple and scientific calculator compared to a complex and advanced calculator; 3. design the prototype and interface of the system by using software in developing a mobile application; and 4. evaluate the application's complete function by getting information from the possible users of mobile application. Planning the design and expected output, gathering information about the subjects related to the system, consulting and conducting interviews on mathematics and science teachers for deriving the formulas and converting the flow of each formula into codes were done by the developers to complete the system. The researchers conducted an evaluation on two hundred participants including one hundred seventy-four students and twenty-three teachers from Cavite State University Rosario, Rosario Institute and Rosario National High School, two 1.T. specialists and one mobile developer. The criteria used by the researchers are the following accuracy of the software, consistency of the software, correctness of the software, reliability of the software, information in the program of the software, user-interaction of the software, and technical aspects of the software The result of the software evaluation shows that the application achieves an overall mean of 4.53 with rating of "Outstanding".
