520 _aENRIQUEZ, ELAINE DS., MORESCO, WAWARD S. AND TALAGTAG, JOHN- JOHN M. Development of MOLAPREN; A Mobile Application About Molecules, Atoms, Protons, Electrons and Neutrons. A Project Design. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University-Rosario, Rosario, Cavite. April 2015. Adviser: Raiza D. Borreo. Chemistry is a Science subject usually offered on the third level in secondary education and in college level. Some of the students are having a hard time to learn this subject because its approach deals with computations, theories and experiments that makes it a tedious one. The study is focused on the development of a mobile application about molecules, atoms, protons, electrons and neutrons the basic knowledge of Chemistry. The study aimed to: 1. design the user interface of the mobile application about molecules, atoms, protons, electrons and neutrons for the third year high school students only; 2. test and evaluate the system to the third year high school students using software evaluation criteria; and 3. implement the system to the third year high school students using smart phones. The researchers used the system development method called iterative model, where planning, analyzing and developing phase interact continuously to build the system that can be tested and implemented through desktop PC and mobile phones run with having an Android OS. The criteria for evaluation of the mobile application are: accuracy, consistency, correctness, reliability, information in the program, user interaction and technical aspects of the software and materials. The researchers conducted an evaluation on two hundred (200) participants which is composed of one hundred fifty (150) third year high school students and thirty teachers (30) from Tanza National Comprehensive High School, Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School and Cavite State University Rosario and twenty (20) I.T. specialists from Cavite State University Rosario. The result of the software evaluation shows that the system is capable of helping and guiding the users on the Chemistry subject. It serves as reference/guide for the users on Chemistry subject and to gain some knowledge on said subject.
