The main purpose of the study was to develop and evaluate a raw fish washer for fish vendors and other ordinary person. Specially, the study aimed to: 1) design a fish washer. 2) construct the fish washer using the available materials in the local market. 3) evaluate the performance and operation of the fish washer in terms of how much fish can be wash in 1 loading or per hour ,what is the quality of fish after washing, 4) conduct a cost analysis for the fish washer. This was conducted at Cavite State University-Rosario Campus from October 2015 to May 2016. It was safe to use, it was electrically operated with 220v. It can wash more than 450 pieces of fish in an hour base upon in the evaluation and observation from the machine use. The motor runs slowly with rotating speed of 15times per minute without overheating. Fiber glass was used as motor cover and in the control system. The fish washer determined to the number of fish, the weight of the fish preloading, in time of washing from the direction forward and reverse and also in amount of water consumption. The fish washer can wash 1 kilogram of fish per tray or loading in every setting of washing. The volume of water depends on the texture or the quality of fish if the fish was shiny, has no blood on the surface of the body and if the water seems clear the machine will stop operating then that's the time to measure the water, the movement forward and reverse and also the time of washing. The fish washer can perform a good quality of washing fish it can save man's power and also the time in washing fish from every setting of shower. It can operate in an hour and it can less water consumption unlike in manual washing. The study revealed that the RAW FISH WASHER was technically feasible due to the fact that its design and construction were trouble-free. (1) the machine can wash 60 kilograms of fish per hour. (2)the amount volume of water depends on the texture or the quality of fish during the process. (3) the fish washer can save man's power and water consumption in washing fish. The total cost of the complete project is Php.21, 210.00 | ||
