The study was conducted at Cavite State University Rosario Cavite Campus in Brgy.Tejeros Convention, Rosario Cavite from November 2016 to May 2017 to develop a Pneumatic Sheet Metal Cutting Machine. Specifically,the study aimed to: 1) design sheet metal cutter; 2) construct sheet metal cutter using available materials and manpower;and 3) evaluate the performance of the prototype in terms of time response of cutting and proper pressure needed on different thickness of metal. The pneumatic sheet metal cutting machine was designed mainly to cut angle bars for support and braces. A 300 psi capacity pneumatic cylinder was used in this machine. It can cut different gauge such as; 36,32,28,26,24,22,20 and 18 sheet metal and it can cut up to 15 inches long. The pneumatic sheet metal cutting machine was evaluated in terms of time response and pressure needed to apply in cutting a different gauge of sheet metal.The performance of pneumatic sheet metal cutting machine was assessed by using a different thickness of sheet metal. The operators of the machine must have enough training or practice to do the job fast and accurately. The response time of the machine in cutting a sheet metal varies in gauge used. Thus, the thinner the sheet metal, the faster the machine can perform. The pressure of the pneumatic sheet metal cutting machine varies depending on the thickness of the sheet metal. In different gauge of sheet metal there's an applicable pressure needed to apply.Thus, the thicker the sheet metal, the higher the pressure needed. The total cost of the project is PHP 39,553.00.
