520 _aSAQUILAYAN, RUSSEL R., TABANAN, TRISHA V. Solar Energy Trash Bin Robot. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University — Cavite College of Arts and Trades, Rosario, Cavite. May 2019. Adviser: Jerickson C. Bautista. Technical Critic: Diane P. Arayata. The study was conducted from December 2018 to May 2019 to create a trash collecting robot, by incorporating a solar energy power system and a mobile application to control the functions of the robot. Specifically aimed to: (1) create a trash bin robot and include a solar photovoltaic (PV) system as source of power; (2) develop the trash bin robot for collecting trash or waste from indoor spaces by designing a mobile application that will control the functions of the trash bin; (3) test the functionality of the prototype according to: capacity, efficiency, power consumption and effectiveness of the mobile application; and (4) evaluate the mobile application based on ISO/IEC 9126-1 according to: understandability, learnability, operability, attractiveness and usability compliance. Trash bin robot allows the user to manage through an application. The robot lists all the user and it will go its designated area allowing the user to throw his/her garbage. The developers evaluated the robot in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. Based on the results of the evaluation the study met its objectives and serve its functions. Line tracking sensor are so sensitive sensor that can be easily affected by environmental factors such as: too light and too dim. This revealed some limitations of the system and arises some recommendations for the improvement of the study.
