Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite. April 2015. Thesis Adviser: Mrs. Raiza D. Borreo. Technical critic: Daniel A. Villanueva. The project was conducted to develop a Tinapa Making Machine. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1.) design a Tinapa Making Machine that could adopt the manual operation of tinapa making into automatic operation, 2.) test the system if it conforms to the standards, and 3.) evaluate the machines performance. The developers used system prototyping method in order to construct a functional machine. Planning the system’s functionalities includes gathering of data from different sources, actual observation of the manual processing of tinapa, and analyzing the system software and hardware requirements. Designing the prototype circuit diagrams was conducted. Fabrication of the machine was conducted by building the components together. The machine was tested from the boiling, drying and smoking the fish. The overall system’s performance was tested through conducting series of technical evaluation on different trials of cooking. The major components of the system were tested such as temperature sensor, fork, motors, and the timer. The evaluation results determine that the machine performed the tasks as specified. There is a quality in the tinapa product based on the color and texture. The maximum amount of tinapa that the machine can produce per batch is 1.4 kg. Different system components complied with the specified functionalities such that the temperature sensor controlled the heating level up to 70° Celsius, motor to control the fork movement, and switches to give signal for the next process. The cost of energy consumption to produce the tinapa was computed as 2.56 kW/hr x PhP 8.50 kW per hour amounting to PhP 21.75/hr of operation.
