520 _aBERNABE, RALPH AGUSTIN S., and DE OCAMPO, MARCO AUSTIN C. Performance Analysis of Diffuser-Augmented Wind Turbine System. A Design Project. Bachelor of Science m Electrical Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Dexter S. Ramos. Technical Critic: Engr. John Robert G. Briones. The study was conducted from August 2018-March 2019 to compare the performance of diffuser-augmented wind turbine system Specifically, this study aimed to design and develop a laboratory-scale diffuser-augmented wind turbine which will convert wind energy into electrical energy; test and evaluate the performance of the design of the diffuser augmented wind turbine as affected by the diameter of the inlet diffuser, diameter of the outlet diffuser, and angle of inclination of the blades; and compare the total power generated in each setup. The voltage output and the speed of the rotor blades of thirty combinations of diameter of inlet and outlet and inclination of rotor blades were observed and recorded. The results revealed that the size of the inlet diffuser, outlet diffuser, and the inclination of the rotor blades directly affect the voltage output and speed of the rotor blades. The increase in the diameter of the inlet diffuser increases the average rpm and voltage output white the increase in the blade inclination and diameter of the outlet diffuser decreases their values. The 30° inclination of the rotor blade, 20-cm diameter of the inlet diffuser and 25-cm diameter of the outlet diffuser is the most efficient design which produced 1093.4 rpm of the blade and 3.8488 V. The study also showed that the ratio of the size of inlet diffuser to the ratio of the siz.e of the blade must not to be 56 percent or less because the air flow to the inlet diffuser will not be sufficient to rotate the blades.
