Development of Monitoring System for Communal Water Distribution Network. Design Project. Department of Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. January 2019. Adviser: Engr. Juniel M. Arcal and Technical Critic. Engr. Ruth Angel L. Burton. The study was conducted from November 27, 2017 to December 2018 to develop a monitoring system for communal water distribution network. Specifically, the study aimed to; 1) Design and construct the software and hardware of the water quality Monitoring system; 2) Evaluate the performance of system in monitoring pH, TDS sad Water usage: 3) Compare the data gathered of the system to the existing measuring devices for the pH, TDS and water consumption to ensure validity/ reliability of date, and 4) Conduct cost analysis of the system. A water source from the pump of administration building of Cavite State University - CCAT Campus was used for the technical evaluation of the device. The device has a dimension of 0 15a x 0 08m x 0 07m. Every hour the second reading for the sensors were taken. Sensor readings for TDS and pH depends on the time of the raspberry pi. The 4 x 20-character LCD displays water consumption. Standards for drinking water was set as a range for triggering the solenoid valve. The water hardness result depends on the value of the TDS. The system can precisely monitor the water quality parameters. A water pressure is required in order to gather data of sensors because the sensors are slightly elevated inside the pipes. Transferring of data from the device to any flash drive is safe ER -
