Locker Security System Using Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Fingerprint Biometrics. Design Project. Department of Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Diane P. Arayata. Technical critic: Kenneth J. Enrico. The study was conducted from December 2017 to March 2018 to develop a locker system using GSM and fingerprint biometrics. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a locker that has a security system embedded to it; 2) evaluate the function and strength of security of the system; 3) implement the prototype at the CSG office of Cavite State University - CCAT Campus; and 4) conduct cost analysis of the system of the prototype. The proponents used Arduino™ IDE to program the system. They used a 12v 5A adapter to supply power to Arduino MEGA, 16x2 LCD screen, GSM module, fingerprint sensor, memory card module, five (5) 12v solenoid locks and the 8-channel relay. The prototype was evaluated using the Performance Evaluation method for the reaction time of both the GSM module and the fingerprint biometric sensor. The participants in the evaluation portrayed as the administrator, the users and the unauthorized persons. From the results of the evaluation, the proponents found out that the automation of lockers such as the replacement of conventional locks to biometric sensors can reduce the trouble for the users to bring their keys that can be stolen since the security medium that is being used by the system is the unique characteristic of the person which is the fingerprint ER -
