Transforming Waste Heat into Useful Power: Thermoelectric Power Generation. Design Project. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Harvey T. Crisostomo. Technical critic: Engr. Ariesthotle D. Arive The study was conducted from January 2018 to June 2018 to develop develop a device that can harness and transform waste the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a small-scale renewable power source device which specializes in harnessing heat energy from candle fire; 2) evaluate the output voltage, with respect to the change in temperature, conversion efficiency, and power output of the device; and 3) conduct cost analysis. The fire from the candle is used as the primary subject of the operation. A thermometer were used to monitor the change of temperature during exposure to fire as well as the voltmeter to measure the generated voltage at the same time. The result of the evaluation showed that the TEGs can produce a certain amount of voltage depending on the temperature difference between the hot side and cold side of the TEG over time. The result also showed that the device produced sufficient amount of voltage to charge a battery. ER -
