The study was conducted from June 2015 to August 2016 at Cavite State University Rosario Campus in TVEP Building to develop and evaluate the multipurpose electrical working table. Specifically it aims to: 1) design the multipurpose electrical working table. 2) construct the multipurpose electrical working table from supply and materials available in the local market. 3) evaluate the prototype's functionality, total power usage, cost of total power usage for 6 hours, temperature rating, speed in connecting different circuit, time consumed using the winding head, and perform 15 activities using the prototype. 4) conduct cost analysis for the multipurpose electrical working table.
The prototype was constructed composed of three (3) and two (2) gang convenience outlet on three sides and one (1) three gang convenience outlet on one side, winding head, electrical tool drawer, and its convertible to building wiring training board with different types of lighting circuit like single gang switch for incandescent bulb and fluorescent lamp, three gang switch, dimmer switch, three-way switch, two single gang switch, and power circuit with single gang convenience outlet, two gang convenience outlet, three gang convenience outlet and special purpose outlet.
The technical specification of load was based on the packaging label of each item being purchased as reference.
The cost of total power usage for six (6) hours using the prototype, it means that the developed prototype was economical in power usage.
The building wiring training board was applicable for lighting circuit and power circuit. The circuit breakers, fuses, and wires have no change in temperature, it means that the developed prototype was safe to use as trainer. The trainer can save time and effort in connecting different circuit. The winding head used for rewinding shows that the bigger of size of coil length, the more time will consume. The thinner the size of magnet wire, the faster to rewind the coil. The total cost of the prototype was PHP. 19,245.75.
