The study was conducted from July 2015 to May 2017 to develop Water cleaner with coconut husk and hair filter specifically, the project aimed to: 1.) design a Water Cleaner with Coconut Husk and Hair Filter 2.) construct a water cleaner with a coconut husk and hair filter 3.) evaluate the performance of water filter at sea water and river in terms of: a.) filtering of waste material in volume and mass b.) classify the filtered waste bio and non bio c.) compare the waste materials filtered in seawater and river.4.) conduct cost analysis of the project. Water cleaner and coconut husk and hair filter was developed to test the process of filtration with the idea of using coconut husk and human hair as one of the filter agent in it. The project has four (4) major components namely: Water pump and the three layers of filter (1) Mesh (2) Coconut husk and human hair filter (3) Canvass Filter. This water cleaner can be very useful to the intent of reducing water pollutants in sea and river. The proponent conducted a three days trials in sea at Julugan, Tanza, Cavite and river in Wawa 3, Rosario, Cavite. Water filter have filtered a waste as we classify them as biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Biodegradable waste were consisted of leaves and papers, non- biodegradable consisted of plastic, bottles and cans also the other waste like sand and deep mud. We measure the non biodegradable and biodegradable in terms of volume and mass. The project was immersed along the seashore and in river bank or place near in the electric outlet and have a electric wire that's why the result of the study was not more reliable. The findings of the study explained that the project can filter waste but not as much if it was immersed in the middle of the sea or river. The total cost of the project was PHP 29,138.10.

ABSTRACT

DIOLA, JERSON., MATUGUINAS, RYAN A., and SORNES, MARK ANGELO,. Development of Water Cleaner with Coconut Husk and Hair Filter. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. Cavite State University Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite. March 2017.Adviser: Mr. Josefino E. Ambayec. Technical critic: Mr. Danilo G. Santiago.
