IRINGAN, JORENZ and PANGILINAN, RENSO. Development of Chamfering Tool in Portable Drill. Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Mechanical Technology. Cavite State University Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite, April 2017. Adviser: Mr. Nestor Alvarez. Technical critic: Mr. Romulo B. Isorena.
The study was conducted from September 2016 to April 2017 to develop a chamfering tool in a portable drill. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design a chamfering tool in a portable drill; 2) construct a Chamfering tool in a portable drill using locally available materials; 3) evaluate the performance of the tool in terms of the degree of chamfering in 45°-30° and the width of chamfering and; 4) conduct a cost analysis for the chamfering tool. The chamfering tool has 3 major parts namely: the shank, cutting edges, and mouth, and also the tool have a degree of 45 and 30.
The chamfering tool was evaluated in terms of accuracy and effectiveness, the project's accuracy was tested in different such as: the skilled, semiskilled and unskilled mechanics, and was compared its speed to lathe machine and cylindrical grinder.
The minimum diameter of the chamfering tool was 45 and 30 degree and can chamfer to 8mm and the maximum diameter of the 45 degree chamfering tool was 35mm, while the 30 degree chamfering tool was 30mm.
The finding of the study revealed that the device could chamfered 45 and 30 degree faster. The total cost of the Project is Php.13, 722.96.
