Summary: BANGA, JOVEN O., DONES, RALPH FERNAN S., NOVESTERAS, ARTEMIO A., PO, SHAWN A., SUMILANG, IAN ARCIE N. JARIS: Development of trash bin robot. Undergraduate Theses Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State Unversity-Rosario, Rasario, Cavite. February 2013. Adviser: Mrs. Raiza D. Borreo. The study entitled “JARIS: Development of a Trash bin Robot” was made for the benefit of the students of Cavite State University - Rosario. The study aimed to design a robotic trash bin that follow a human person by sensing its temperature and automatically opening its lid. The evaluation of the performance of the system used ISO 9126 standards. The 4” generation technique (4GT) was used in developing the system. This technique is composed of four stages including: (1) Requirements gathering where the researchers gathered Information through books, libraries, undergrad thesis, and internet, (2) Design Strategy to come up with the output of the system, (3) Implementation using 4GL phase, where the researchers started developing the system using Assembly Language as their programming language, AutoCad 2007 for the graphical design of the system, and (4) Testing phase, where testing and debugging of the system were done. Evaluation was done to test the performance of the system. Random sampling was the method used to identify the participants. A total of thirty (30) participants evaluated the system using the criteria of ISO 9126. The participants filled up the evaluation questionnaire and used the following ratings: (5) Excellent (4) Very Satisfactory (3) Satisfactory (2) Fair (1) Poor. In order to get the overall rating of the system, the proponents used the weighted mean. The system got an average mean of 4.176 from the 10 government employees, and 3.726 from 20 Cavite Stale University - Rosario Students. The system had an overall mean of 3.951 which means that, it satisfied the 30 selected respondents of the system.
