Cielo.<br/><br/>The study was conducted from July 2015 to March 2016 to develop and evaluate a alarm monitoring device. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and develop an alarm monitoring device; 2) construct the device using locally available materials; 3) evaluate the performance of the device in accordance to its operational limitations; 4) determine the acceptability of the device in terms of the following; a) effectiveness, b) speed of operation 5) conduct cost analysis for the alarm monitoring device.<br/><br/>The study was composed of the following parts,Arduino Uno was a software used to control and sense the information of the vehicle. Arduino Uno has a processor of 16 Mhz ATMEGA328, memory of 2KB SRAM, 32KB flash, a digital I/O of 14 and analogue I/O of 6 input, 0 output. It serves as the brain of this system and it is tool for implementing the program that has been designed or programmed. The function of this arduino to the system was to execute the command text forwarded by SIM900 GSM Module to the assigned phone. SIM900 GSM Module operates 900MHz Band with 12volts input, using 12V, 1A DC. Vibration Sensor was used to sense the unnecessary movement of a vehicle.<br/><br/>The development of alarm monitoring device was designed to inform the owner for any current anomaly happened in the vehicle. An SMS is sent automatically by the Arduino to the owner to notify that there is an irregularity with the car's condition. The SMS command will received by the GSM Module and forwarded to the microcontroller. The microcontroller execute the command and interrupt the ignition system supply from the car battery. To execute the entire operation the car owner has to make sure that the device has an electronic load to send a message.The total cost of the project was PHP 11, 638.50.<br/><br/>Testing and evaluation was conducted in 3 trials with different places from CvSU Rosario,Indang and Quezon City. The consistency of the process and its speed was measured with the use of a digital stop watch.<br/><br/>Using the Alarm Monitoring Device evaluation, it was found out that CvSU Indang to CvSU Rosario took the longest time of send and transmit message. Quezon City to CvSU Rosario got the least time, and within the Rosario, was the shortest and fastest trials among the three. The effectiveness of the device depends on the strong signal of the network in the lace and not on the location where the user used the device. |
