Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University-Rosario Campus, Rosario, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser. Prof. Christopher G. Estonilo.
The study was conducted from January 2016 to March 2017 to develop a microcontroller-based sound activated switch. Specifically, the study aimed to. 1) design and develop a microcontroller-based sound activated switch, 2) test and evaluate the system; 3) implement a beta-version of the microcontroller-based sound activated switch, and 4) conduct a cost analysis of fabricating the system.
The developers used the interactive model of system development for the methodology. The planning, analysis, and design phase were performed continuously until the system was developed for the evaluation and implementation.
Based on the results of the evaluation, the system performs better at the 3-clap settings and least on the 5-clap setting. The distance between the source of sound and the system does not affect the turning on and off of the sound-activated switch provided that the sound level increased at increasing distance.
