DELOVERJES, CAMILLE B. Development of Electronics Wire Cutting Machine with Stripper. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Cavite State University-Cavite College of Arts and Trades Campus, Rosario, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Engr. Diane P. Arayata and Technical Critic: Efrain P. Aguasa.
The study was conducted from December 2017 to May 2019 to develop an Automatic electronics wire cutting machine. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a low-cost wire cutter and stripper machine; 2) design a software that can control the quantity and size of wires to be cut; 3) evaluate the software and hardware components; 4) evaluate the accuracy of the device in terms of uniformity of cut, size, cutting capacity, effectivity of stripping; and 5) conduct cost analysis.
At Cavite State University - CCAT Campus the technical evaluation of the device was done. A 220V AC powered the machine. The enclosure was made from a galvanized sheet metal. The device has a dimension of 65cm x 36cm x 47cm. It was composed of an Arduino mega, 3 stepper motors, keypad, and a 4 x 20 characters LCD. An Arduino mega is a microcontroller board based on the ATmegal280 (datasheet). It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 14 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. A 4x20 characters LCD Display works with 5v DC and has a dimension of 98mm x 60mm x 12mm.
The device was focused to cut electronics wire with the size of 16 AWG up to 20 AWG. The device was focused to cut electronics wire only up to its range of quantity. And also the device emphases to cut electronics wire only on specified sizes.
