CALAZAN, JOIHN LESTER P. Notification System of Water Dispenser via Short Message Service Design Project. Department of Engineering. Cavite State University CCAT Campus, Rosario. Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Engr. Ariesthotle D. Arive. Technical critic: Diane P. Arayata
The study was conducted from August 2017 to April 2018 to design a notification system that facilitate the operation of water refilling system of Cavite State University CCA T Campus. Specifically, the study aimed to: 1) design and construct a potable low level notification and alarm system for water dispenser using a non-contact form of measurement to avoid water contamination; 2) evaluate and test the device based on the response of the system to the load and; 3) conduct cost analysis for the project.
The system was programmed as when the sensor senses the lowest weight of the water gallon at the crater of the water dispenser placed at each department of the university. The system was programmed at five (5) minutes delay because there is an instance that there were water gallons being stacked inside a certain department. The five (5) minutes delay concept is that it is the time countdown for the faculty member in a certain department to refill the water bottle in the water dispenser. If the sensor still does not sense a weight that is above the threshold it will start sending SMS to the receiving system.
The results of the statistical analysis of data revealed that the system is responsive and efficient for the university. The sensory evaluation showed that the sensor worked well with quite problems like malfunction due to wire bending. Furthermore, the system needs more signal strength in order to receive the message on time.
